I have yet to master the art of the "before" picture. The inspiration to take a photo rarely arrives until I have a complete or nearly complete project. I will try to make this more of a focus for 2012, but in the meantime you'll just have to use your imagination with some of my recent endeavors. One I am particularly proud of is the conversion of a $1 wall hook/plaque from the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store (bearing a poinsettia and Santa Claus motif) into the image below. I used acrylic paint and a pressed botanical sticker (from a set, also thrifted), followed by a coat of lacquer. A 100% improvement, in my opinion, and also able to be used year round. Next time, I will make sure the conversion is better documented!
